On Monday I posted a video about why Facebook advertising sucks, so I thought that I better post an update to that video.

I still think their inconsistency and their interface sucks… but it bothered me that they wouldn’t accept my ads, so I kept messing with it until I finally got one accepted yesterday.

Now I have a whole new set of complaints…

The way that I finally got accepted was to create an advertisement that linked to one of my Facebook group pages.  My idea is to use Facebook to build a list.

And that brings me to my new Facebook complaint:

Facebook provides tracking code for tracking your clicks to outside pages, but not for other Facebook pages.

In other words, there’s no way to track how many people who click through to my group page actually join my group.

I can anecdotally watch my clicks and compare them to how many new members join my group, but I can’t be sure where the new members are actually coming from… they could be coming from any one of my pages, an email message, a search engine, etc.

There’s no way to track the clicks.

That seems pretty ridiculous since the page is one of Facebook’s internal pages.  I’m looking for a way to rig something up, but haven’t found anything yet (If you have the answer I hope you’ll tell me!).

Anyway, I’m planning to add some other ads to see if I can start to figure out what Facebook is looking for in their accepted ads.

The other thing that I wanted to mention today is that I created another new Hubpage at:

http://hubpages.com/hub/Nu-Skin-Business-Opportunity

I’ve been steadily creating new hubs for the last couple of weeks to see if they can bring in a significant amount of traffic.  So far I’ve been getting mixed results, but I’ll keep reporting on it and let you know how it goes.
